Mrs UniverseAngola's Leila Lopes-Miss Universe 2011 Lopes is the first winner the pageant has ever selected from her country. Leila Lopes from Angola has been crowned Miss Universe after smoothly handling an interview question about what physical trait she would change if she could. She said it was her inner beauty and principles that counted most. Lopes was also asked about racism in light of the fact that she's one of the few black women to earn the Miss Universe crown. Lopes responded, "any racist needs to seek help." Miss Cayman Islands Cristin Alexander seemed to side with local custom, however, stating in a video posted on the Miss Universe website that she thinks "the body is a beautiful thing and I think it's great we get to celebrate that by wearing little bikinis." "It's not normal in the 21st century to think in that way," she said. Rounding out the top five at Monday's pageant were Miss Brazil, Miss China, Miss Philippines and 23-year-old Miss Ukraine Olesia Stefanko, who was the first runner-up. Much controversy surrounded the competition with fans criticizing that the winner Miss Angola was asked a more simple question in the " question and answer" round while Miss Philippines had a much testier run. In response Miss Philippines clarified that the questions came from organizers not from the judges. Angola's Leila Lopes Miss Universe 2011
