Ghanaian movie star, Majid Michel, caused a stir among the Nollywood stars especially the actresses.In the past Majid Michel (nicknamed Shaker, born September 22, 1980) is a Ghanaian actor. Previously received a nomination for Best Actor in a Lead Role at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2009.
Ghanaian Actor, Majid Michel won the nod for the Best Actor in a Leading Role prize at the inaugural Nollywood & African Film Critics’ Awards which took at the Sheraton Imperial Grand Ball Room over the weekend. He was nominated alongside Ekow Blankson, Ramsey Nouah, Benjamin Joseph and Hakeem Kae-Kazim.
Majid won the award for his role in the much talked about movie on wars in Africa, ‘Somewhere in Africa’. The movie which had topped the list of nominations for the award ceremony also won Frank Arase Rajah the Best Director nod.

When Jim walked on stage after the winner of the “Best Actor in Leading Role” was announced, where Majid lost to South African actor Themba Ndaba, he said something to the effect that Majid deserved to win the award because he thinks Majid has been around for a long time, and they have both suffered for the movie industry in Nigeria and Ghana. Jim said he has faced gun-shots together with Majid, all in the course of their duty as actors.Tweet
